Mmm

Looove lazy saturday mornings. Sun is shining through my window, made chocolate covered strawberries to the sounds of  Bob Marley and now for a run. Work at 4, then play... gettin fancy with the girls tonight!

Here's to a great saturday :)

One- Minute Uplift

Pastor Rick Ezell tells this story: "A university professor tells of being invited to speak at a military base in December and their meeting an unforgettable soldier named Ralph. Ralph had been sent to meet him at the airport; and after they had introduced themselves, they headed toward the baggage claim. As they walked down the concourse, Ralph kept disappearing -- once to help an older woman whose suitcase had fallen open, once to lift two toddlers up to where they could see Santa Claus, and again to give directions to someone who was lost. Each time he came back with a big smile on his face.

"'Where did you learn to do that?' The professor asked.

"'Do what?' Ralph said.

"'To be so helpful and considerate to others.'

"'Oh,' Ralph said, 'during the war, I guess.'

"Then he told the professor about his tour of duty in Vietnam, about how it was his job to clear minefields, and how he watched his friends blow up before his eyes, one after another. 'I learned to live between steps,' he said. 'I never knew whether the next one would be my last, so I learned to get everything I could out of the moment between when I picked up my foot and when I put it down again. Every step I took was a whole new world, and I guess I've just been that way ever since.'

"A grace-filled life is living between the steps. It understands the remarkable gift of today."

A record.

What a day.

Woke up this morning to my alarm playing the The Band's "The Weight" and knew that today was gonna be good. I work with  kindergartners at a Summer camp and  they never cease to tire me out by the end of my shift, all the while being completely cute. My favorite moment was when I played tug of war against all the girls in the goup and they took me down.... and then bear hugged me and said I was still their best staff haha ♥. The worst moment was when one kid kicked another in the face and busted the little man's lip while we were trying to make root beer floats for the 20 other rambuctious kids. Oh the joys of working at a daycare. But I love it!
After work, me and the bestie made a quick trip to Glendale to try a well-known and quirky ice cream shop, Paradis. They had flavors like salted caramel, ferrer rocher, and elderflower sorbet, the latter being a popular flavor in the server's home country, Denmark. I tried it out- it had a soft lemon- lime flavor with an undertone of something flowery. It was great in cone.
After a much needed nap, I woke up to cook dinner. The menu was chicken pot pie ( all from scratch baby!), salad, and homemade lemonade. With my parents and brother at work and my sister asleep and sick,  I decided to eat out on the back porch. I sat under the balmy dusk sky with my bare feet skimming the grass as I sipped lemonade. Definitely my bliss for the day. Something about being barefoot out under a beautiful sky makes my heart feel full and light at the same time. After that I headed off to dance my night away at salsa class- I swear that class is my saving grace during the week. Its energetic and sexy and an amazing workout! If you ever get the chance to take a latin dance class, do it... you won't  regret it.

“I watch out my window as the planes take off into space. Oh, that I could fly away and start fresh. But I must realize that fresh starts also come in the pretty wrapped gift called 'tomorrow.'” - Unknown
